Obesity Is Risky Business

Obesity is a chronic (long-term) condition that can seriously affect your health. Obesity is an accumulation of excess fat on your body. It has serious long-term effects on your health and is the second cause of preventable death in the United States. Weight gain occurs when you eat more calories than you consume and the extra amount of food turns to fat and then stored in your body. If you overeat regularly, you will gain weight and can become obese.

A few pounds of extra weight are usually not a problem for most people or a health risk but if you are seriously overweight or obese can cause a person to have numerous health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke or arthritis. Certain causes can contribute to obesity, which include genetics, culture, not enough exercise, emotions such as depression, anxiety, gender, age, environmental, and overeating.

If you want to loose and are having trouble, talk to your doctor. There are many ways to lose weight and the first step might include eating fewer calories and increasing physical activity overtime. This is the basic and most natural way to loose weight. A second step might include taking medications, if you have certain diseases like diabetes type 2 or heart disease. The third step to help you lose the weight is possible surgery, which will reduce the size of your stomach. The fourth step your doctor might suggest is counseling. If you feel depressed, anxious, or bored you might need to learn how to deal with these emotions.

Before beginning any treatment for obesity, it is important that you want to make these lifestyle changes and change your diet, executrices regularly and to be healthy.
