Quick Change

Posted on Wednesday 24 December 2008

When changing a diaper you need to be able to act on moments notice. You never know when the flood gates of hell could be unleashed upon you. Before you start to take off the dirty diaper, it is not a bad idea to lay out and open up the clean one first, and place it underneath your little hell raiser. Once you get the replacement diaper in place, it is time to make the exchange. Remove the pants and tuck all the clothes away for the diaper area. Remove the sticky tabs that hold the diaper in place, and start the removal procedure. Use the top part of the diaper to remove the bulk of the mess, use lots of wipes for the rest. Tuck the dirty wipes in the diaper, fold it over onto itself and remove. Then use the tabs to seal the diaper up and place into a bag for disposal. Keep in mind that you must always have one hand on the baby at all times. Now it is time for you to put the diaper on. Be sure that the diaper is in the right place underneath the baby. If there is any way that you can have the baby flat out, this will make the procedure much easier. Grab the front of the diaper, and stretch it around the front of the baby, keep it in place with you thumb and forefinger stretch out. Then grab the tabs and stretch them around to the front, securing the diaper in place. Before you button everything back up, try to fix the diaper so that it’s not all crumpled up, trying to make it as comfortable, and effective as possible.
